So much time and so little to do. Wait a minute. Strike that. Reverse it! ~Willy Wonka

I'm going to keep this one pretty short but I want to briefly talk about the wonder of social media.  Of course this is a pretty broad topic but I love social media.  And there are people who are much more into it than I am.  I'd say when it comes down to it Twitter is my big thing, I'm a bit of a twitter whore. I love tweeting and I love reading tweets. For the longest time I had twitter just for personal use but now I've turned it into a slightly more professional deal.  I have also taken to Tumblr and LinkedIn, and I keep up this Blogger here. Then just like every other human being with internet access I'm rather attached to my Facebook.  So there's a bit of insight into my social media world, but in general I just enjoy the world of social media.
It's the best and most efficient way to approach things nowadays. For a college kid like myself it serves as a news source, a way to keep in touch, and a platform for creating a career.
Anyways... I just read a great article from the New York Times about Nike and their brand Nike 6.0.  Its common knowledge that Nike is one of those brands that we don't even need words to recognize.  Just a swoosh will do, and we can all immediately recite their "just do it" tag line. But Nike doesn't settle ever. Nike 6.0 is a newer division aimed at the action sports world, including surfing, snowboarding, and skateboarding.  They have just launched a new campaign called "The Chosen."  They're using social media left and right to run video contests and feature star athletes in each sport. I won't go into detail about it all because this article does it justice, so here's the link:

So there you have it, read and enjoy. Nike has the perfect formula and recipe especially in terms of embracing social media.

  1. Yeah that Nike campaign was really cool in terms of its social engagement strategy!

You should check out a new social networking site called Quora where you basically ask questions and people who are experts will answer them. The best part is that everyone on Quora actually is an expert.
